Transportation Operations and Analysis
TDS is a professional consulting and system development organization, located in California's Silicon Valley, specializing in finding innovative solutions to transportation problems and issues facing governments, providers, and users.
Transportation Decision Systems is a California corporation formed in 1993 to serve the needs of transportation organizations in operations research and engineering, software systems design and development, human factors in transportation operations, simulation, logistics, software engineering, and transportation business economics analysis. It provides consulting services, software systems, and software development assistance. With emphasis on the development and use of computer-based tools, it applies methods of operations research and the management sciences to solve operational and strategic planning and analysis problems and to achieve improved operations management.
TDS was founded by a group of senior professionals and executives who had worked together for many years at a large internationally-known research and consulting firm, SRI International. Thus while the company is relatively new, the continuity of staff working relationships, expertise, and project experience extends over two decades or more. Project assignments have included work in air transportation and air traffic control, rail transportation and rapid transit systems, highway and ocean transportation, and transportation-related inventory and distribution management. Our clients have included government and commercial organizations in the countries of North America, Europe including the United Kingdom and Scandinavia, Asia, the Middle East, and Australia.
TDS' premier product is its OnTrack Simulation Suite, in use by major light-rail and rapid transit properties, as well as engineering firms.
